I am Trish Freeland, the Pastor's wife, I have 5 children, and 6 grandchildren. I serve as the Church Secretary, lead praise and worship, and I currently teach the Young Disciples Class.  I have worked for the state of NC at the NC Infant Toddler Program for the past 20 years. I feel it is my mission on earth to assist families with babies with some type of condition or developmental delay. Our daughter Casey, who has Down Syndrome has inspired me to help other families in similar situations. Of which I have been prepared for all my life since my mother worked with the same population, and during my junior and high school years I volunteered to be a tutor in the special education classroom. My fondest memories are when I stood up to the bullies that bullied them.

I came to know the Lord at 12 years old at the Hilltop Baptist Church and had from then on knew Jesus was near by to help me. That knowledge sustained me through many lonely and rough years during my childhood. Then, during my young adulthood when I was living with both feet in the world, but I always knew Jesus was able to rescue me out of my mess. Through it all, Jesus never left me and I finally came to realize that living for the Lord was the only way to have true Peace. And now, I want everyone to know the Lord will rescue anyone that cries out for Him....especially if you have one foot in the world, or both!

That is why I appreciate the message of the cross and so glad that my husband found World Evangelism Fellowship. Jimmy Swaggart has preached it ever since the Lord revealed it to him in such a real way for us pitiful humans to grasp it and understand it. The message of the Cross will be preached continually at Cross-Connected. 

I came across a comment on fb that my husband Pastor Ron made and it sums up what we believe and preach and teach. It is so important to get this. "I still believe that a believer still has a sin nature after they are saved. We can say or believe whatever we want, but I think we fall short every single day. That doesn't mean that we live in sin either. The only way/time the Divine nature/Holy Spirit has control over our sin nature is when we are not committing spiritual adultery, which in essence is idol worship, and that is when our faith is not in Christ alone/the Cross alone.
Before we are saved we have a human nature that is corrupted, due to the Fall, and a sin nature also due to the Fall. When we get saved we receive a Divine nature. The divine nature, the Holy Spirit, God, Christ in us will rule and reign, when our faith is anchored properly. The sin nature will begin to have dominion/rule and reign in our heart and life if we add to our faith, or try to live by the law.
I know that you get that. To me it has never made sense that the sin nature is obliterated at salvation. If that was true, there would be so much Christlikeness in the church world. I guess you could argue that there are even fewer people saved in the church than we thought. Also I think 1 John 1 makes it clear that we are still dealing with a sin nature."

I see every human being as a soul bound for heaven or hell and I always look for opportunities to ask each person if they know Jesus as their Savior, and by the leading of the Holy Spirit witnesses accordingly. Join us.
